Album Description The international Irish music phenomenon, Celtic Woman, is renowned for singing inspirational melodies and heartwarming songs that stir fans of all ages and cultures. The 5 member Irish female ensemble (vocalists Chloe, Lisa, Alex, Lynn and Celtic Violinist Mairead) under the musical direction of David Downes, categorically defined a distinct genre by putting a modern twist on the Celtic sound. In just four short years, the group has played nine US tours, released 4 CDs, 4 DVDs and performed for close to 1 million concert-goers. The group's albums have held the #1 position on the World Music Chart while their four PBS TV specials have dominated the broadcast circuit. As a testament to the group's ability to cross musical and cultural boundaries, 2009 saw Celtic Woman perform on ABC's Dancing With The Stars singing for 23 million viewers and at the White House for The National Christmas Tree Lighting before President Obama and his family. A true celebration of Ireland, Celtic Woman's unforgettable signature style can be enjoyed by all on their brand-new PBS TV special, concert tour, CD and DVD- Songs from the Heart.

Typical CW Performance January 26, 2010 Anonymous (DC) 19 out of 21 found this review helpful
Those expecting another CW album shouldn't be disappointed with this one. As usual, this CD offers the same vocal styling one comes to expect from these fine ladies. Only "complaint" is that some of these songs don't sound the same as they do in the broadcast version. Also, some of the instrumentals (specifically the Isle of Hope track) don't match what most saw in their performance. Not a huge thing but something I did notice when listening to some of these tracks.
Celtic Women are AMAZING!!!! March 18, 2010 Betty J. Jonas 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought the CD and DVD. They are complately amazing. I watched the DVD with my mom and sister and they fell in love as well. I can't wait to see them in concert this year. If you get a chance and if you like celtic music or even if you don't you should really take a losten you will be delighfully surprised.
You won't be dissapointed with this one! February 18, 2010 Irish Lass (Oklahoma) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Celtic Woman music group is one of the most gifted out there! Some groups have a great debut album, but the next ones are a let down - not Celtic Woman! Each of their cd's is at least as good as the one before it. Chloe's voice has developed gorgeously since the earlier albums. Alex and Lynn are a delightful addition to the group. Lisa and Miread are still as perfect as always. There's nothing not to love about this cd!
"Isle of Hope" and "O America" moved me to tears.
You will not regret buying this amazing album!
Another winner from Celtic Woman and David Downes February 20, 2010 Rachel E. Bowley (Rockport. TX USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have just recently been tuned in to Celtic Woman - I have no clue where I've been in the last 5 years as far as music goes. I saw the first DVD and wanted to go and see them in concert. After New Journey and Christmas DVD's....I knew I had to go see them in concert. But after the loss of Maeve and Orla, I was a little concerned about the "new" Celtic Woman. I guess I had nothing to fear. Lynn and Alex fit right in with the "old-timers" Chloe and Lisa. I have watched various You tube videos, a few of which were from this last venue at Powerscourt House and Gardens, but was sorry to see that Lagan Love was the only solo for Lynn and True Colors was chosen for Alex. I really think Alex's voice was much better shown in her rendition of "You'll be in my heart" (which was NOT on the DVD or CD) and although Lagan Love shows Lynn's versitility and range, I think they missed out by cutting her version of "Carolina Rua". These very talented woman are tremendous asset to the music world. Unfortunately, at least in Texas, I cannot afford the $150/$250 tickets they are selling for in the 3 venues (Houston, Grand Prairie and San Antonio). It would've been better to set up the Astrodome or the old Cowboy Stadium and charge less for tix.
Amazing, wonderful, don't miss it February 20, 2010 Paw Print (Massachusetts, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Can't stop listening to this cd. It just does something to my soul and my heart. My two faves are Isle of Hope and O,America - both bring tears to my eyes each and every time I hear them. I can't get enough of this cd. Should probably buy another because I'm certain to wear this one out.
If you like CW, you'll love this cd. Don't miss it.
